FARM WORKER POSITION
(All 2012 positions are full. Interviews begin in October for 2013.)
Description of Farm Worker Tasks:
Employees take part in a wide array of tasks, which creates a diversity of work projects each day- from seeding to planting to weeding to harvest to processing to selling to general farm maintenance. Each employee will have a concentration on a certain aspects of the farm, but most often will be working as a team on general farm projects. Each farm employee is an essential part of our farm system.

Qualifications:
Interested applicants should be enthusiastic about local organic agriculture, ideally have a minimum of two complete growing seasons of farming experience, be energetic, be able to work outdoors in any weather conditions, be self-motivated and work well with a crew, have excellent quality control while working quickly and efficiently. Knowledge and experience with cut flower production a plus. Must be trustworthy, reliable and responsible.

Concentration:
Each position has one or two concentration areas, which allows each farm worker to 'wear the hat' for an aspect of the farm. This gives the worker an opportunity to specialize and refine their skills with that aspect, and understand their valuable part on the farm.

Compensation:
Pay starts at $9 per hour for all new Farm Worker positions.
Workers must work the complete season, April through October. We do not accept applications for those who need to end work early for school- sorry!
Returning workers have longer work seasons.
There is the option of taking one week off during the season, unpaid. Employees cannot take their week off together.
Each position has two available sick days.
We do not offer housing for any position.
We offer workers compensation.
