Why we do
what we do,
and how.

We are proud to be farmers.  We love what we do and we love helping to facilitate the connection of agriculture and community. We encourage you to ask questions about where your food comes from, how it is grown, and what it takes to get from its source to your table.  Customer feedback is a vital part of our farm system.  Please feel free to contact us.

Old Friends Farm is owned and operated by Missy Bahret and Casey Steinberg, and is located in Amherst, Massachusetts.  Missy and Casey have been friends since attending the University of Vermont ('98).  After working on many inspiring farms in the Northeast, they started Old Friends Farm.  The farm is in its 9th year.  Above is our typical early Spring crew: (left to right) Mary Jean (Missy's mom), Casey, Missy, Phillip (Missy's husband), Roland, and Bubba (the smarter-than-he-looks dog).  It should be mentioned that our chickens are our feathered workers that work year round, every daylight hour.

At Old Friends Farm, we are passionate about supplying you with healthy, vibrant vegetables and flowers.

We believe in sustainable agriculture, and use only Organic growing practices and post-harvest care.  We are Certified Organic by Baystate Organic Certifiers and Certified Naturally Grown.

Please feel free to ask us about any of our growing practices and about these certifications. We'd be happy to share information with you- Most importantly, we want YOUR certification and trust in how we grow the food and flowers for YOU!
